SLIPKNOT: Utah Show Canceled
April 19, 2005The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that SLIPKNOT's concert tonight (April 19) has been canceled because lead vocalist Corey Taylor is ill, according to promoter United Concerts. The band will be driving to Denver today in hopes that tomorrow night's show at Magness Arena is a go.
SLIPKNOT were scheduled to perform with LAMB OF GOD and SHADOWS FALL at West Valley City's E Center at 7. Refunds are available at point of purchase. United Concerts had no information on whether the show will be rescheduled.
SLIPKNOT were previously forced to cancel Sunday night's (April 17) show in Spokane, Washington under medical orders from singer Corey Taylor's doctors.
This is not the first time illness has thrown a wrench in the works for SLIPKNOT. Percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan missed several performances earlier on the trek in order to tend to his wife, who reportedly suffers from Crohn's disease.
Despite these recent difficulties, Taylor recently told Launch Radio Networks that SLIPKNOT still strive to present the best show possible to their fans. "We want to give so much to the people, you know," he said. "I mean we, you know, we grew up seeing the bands that really gave you 110 percent, really gave you their money's worth, and we want to continue that. And that's why we take everything so seriously and we work for utter perfection."
SLIPKNOT shot a video on April 7 for "Before I Forget", the latest single from the band's 2004 album, "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)". The video is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
"Vol. 3" was recently certified platinum for sales of one million copies.
